One Meter Dive Competition
Entering our 12th season, the Dive Team is open to all NCC members age 18 & under on June 1.
The season is composed of five dual meets held on Sunday afternoons followed by Divisional & All Stars Meets (for qualifying divers).
We welcome all ages and levels of divers (your child must be able to swim safely from the board to the ladder and be mature enough to take direction from our coaches).
Divers who compete in at least two meets are eligible for a trophy and the right to qualify for Divisionals.
Visit the Montgomery County Diving League home page.
Dive Team News
The NCC Sharx Dive Team is revving up for another great season and are looking forward to welcoming back our returning divers and hopefully recruiting many more kids who'd like to try the fun & exciting sport of diving. No experience is necessary, our coaches are experienced with children of all ages and levels in a positive and safe environment!
Our Coaching Staff
We are thrilled to announce a new head dive coach this year, Montana Puente! Excitingly, Montanta will also be working for Lighthouse Management as a manager of the pool so she will quickly become a familiar face who will be a great addition to our NCC family!
Montana is a sophomore at the University of Maryland who is a member of their Division I team and comes to us with a long & distinguished diving and coaching background. She was captain of the St. Johns College High School in DC for four years and was selected first team by the Washington Post her senior year. She began diving at the age of 9 at Tanterra and also year round for the Montgomery Dive Club's National Team for many years. She was assistant dive coach at Tanterra, and for the last two years has been assistant dive coach at East Gate, the number one dive team in division one! She is US Diving Safety Certified, US Diving Dive Safe Certified, Red Cross Lifeguard Certified and MCDL Advanced Coach Certified. Montana is very pleased to be joining our pool and has great ideas for making this the best season yet!
Returning as assistant coach will be our own Alex Rigaux, who was elected captain of the Bethesda Chevy Chase High School dive team this year and led the team to finish 5th in the county out of 23 teams. Alex dives year round with the Montgomery Dive Club high school group, and is excited to be back with his kids again this summer.
Joining Montana and Alex will be junior assistant coach Parker Rigaux. Parker is entering BCC in the fall, and is a member of the Montgomery Dive Club National Team where he trains year round. Parker recently qualified in the top 6 at regionals and is off to Knoxville, TN over Spring Break to dive in East Nationals. Parker loves working with kids of all ages but is particularly good with beginning divers!

Volunteers (both child & adult!)
Its never too early to start lining up volunteers which are essential for the running of the team! Please contact Stephanie Rigaux at hillridge@comcast.net if you can help. We do expect all parents to be actively involved so that the burden doesn't fall on only the few.
Kid Spirit Captains
This year we've decided to join ranks with the swim team and have team spirit captains to help boost morale and plan social events! We're looking for 2-4 kids with lots of enthusiasm to volunteer for these important positions! Ally Peek has already signed up as a Team Spirit Leader, and others are welcome to join!
Dive Team Representative
Returning this year as parent representative this year is Stephanie Rigaux. After many years of service, our beloved Claire Cassard has decided to step down as dive team rep, but will remain involved in the team (we wouldn't let her go far) . Hope Peek is joining Stephanie as co-rep.
Chair Positions
In addition to representative we are looking for a Social Events Coordinator, Volunteer Coordinator, Meet Manager, Meet Concessions Manager and Banquet Coordinator. You can do these alone, or with a spouse or friend!
We look forward to another great summer of Sharx diving. Feel free to contact me at any time to discuss any questions, issues or concerns! We will post an online enrollment form shortly and have a staffed table on Opening Day where you can meet the coaches and sign up in person.
