Sharx Welcome New Head Swim Coach

With temperatures climbing to near 60 degrees yesterday and the football season now over, it is time to start making plans for a great summer at the North Chevy Chase pool!

We are very pleased to announce that EJ Amyot will be serving as Head Swim Coach this summer.  Coach EJ is a 2005 graduate of the University of Maryland where he competed on the Men's swim team for four years.  Coach EJ is an aquatics director at the Bethesda-Chevy Chase YMCA, has club coaching experience with a PVS swim team, and was head coach last summer at Darnestown - an MCSL Division D swim team.  He has an infectious enthusiasm for swimming and is anxious for the summer to arrive.  Coach EJ looks forward to meeting the Sharx and their parents at two coffees the NCC Swim Team Committee plans to host in late April and early May.  At these events, swimmers and parents will be able to meet the new coach, learn more about and register for the swim team, purchase swim team clothing, and see old friends.  We encourage all Sharx families to attend one of these events.  More information regarding the date and time of these coffees will be announced shortly.

Meanwhile, all Sharx should consider staying in swimming shape during the winter.  There are many winter swim programs that offer a variety of competitive and non-competitive options.  Feel free to contact any member of the Sharx Swim Team Committee for more information.

Finally, Coach EJ will be on deck early three mornings a week to coach our extremely popular Masters swim program.  Masters registration will be available at the two swim team coffees.

Please make sure to share this email with NCCSPA families that may not be signed up for the Sharx listserve or are new to our pool community.
