Swim Team Records and All-Star Boards
Information about swim records and All-Stars
Sharx families new to the swim team may be curious about the Swim Team Record and All-Star Boards. The Record Board, which is located at the corner of the pool building closest to the lap pool, lists Team and Pool records for boys and girls for each event on the Saturday “A” meet program. Team records are held by Sharx swimmers and may have been swum at NCC or other MCSL pools. Pool records are sometimes held by Sharx swimmers but often are held by swimmers from other MCSL teams who have competed at our pool. The Record Board is updated regularly and this year several records have been broken!
The All-Star Board is in its 4th season and recognizes Sharx swimmers who achieve all-star qualifying times in an “A” meet and/or swim in the MCSL Relay All-Star Meet at the end of the season. 2009 All-Star qualifying times can be found on the MCSL website. MCSL swimmers with the fastest qualifying times are invited to swim at the Coaches’ Long Course Meet (mid-season) and at the Individual All-Star Meet at the end of the season. Frequently, the Sharx have swimmers entered in both meets.
If a Sharx swimmer swims on a winning relay at the Divisional Relay Carnival, that winning relay team will be invited to swim at the season-ending MCSL Relay All-Star Meet held the weekend after Divisionals. Sharx swimmers who swim at the MCSL Relay All-Star Meet will have their names engraved on the All-Star Board. The All-Star Board is updated at the end of the season – usually before Labor Day.
